What are Seagate IronWolf NAS hard drives?

IronWolf® NAS-optimized hard drives deliver high performance, large capacity and reliability for multi-bay systems. Featuring CMR technology and AgileArray™ firmware, they ensure smooth RAID performance, reduced vibration and efficient power management — ideal for heavy workloads and 24×7 operation.

High workload performance. Designed for demanding environments, IronWolf NAS drives support up to 180TB per year workloads. With up to 7200 RPM spin speeds and sustained transfer rates of 180MB/s, they deliver fast, reliable data access for file sharing, backups and media streaming.

Multi-bay NAS system compatibility. Engineered for multi-bay NAS systems, our NAS hard drives ensure smooth multi-user access. With rotational vibration sensors to reduce drive strain, they maintain peak performance in workstations, home media servers and small business storage solutions.

Energy-efficient design for cost-effective operations. IronWolf drives are optimized for power efficiency, reducing energy consumption in always-on NAS environments. With low power draw and advanced power management, they help minimize heat and operational costs while maintaining high performance for continuous workloads.

CMR Technology

An all-CMR (conventional magnetic recording) portfolio enables consistent, industry-leading 24×7 performance, so users can access data anytime, anywhere without SMR rewrite penalties.

AgileArray™ Firmware

AgileArray with dual-plane balancing, time-limited error recovery (TLER) and rotational vibration (RV) sensors delivers top RAID performance in multi-bay environments.

Rotational Vibration Sensors

RV sensors reduce drive strain so the drive maintains peak performance in workstations, home media servers and small business storage where several drives spin side by side.

IronWolf Health Management

Actively monitors drive status in compatible NAS systems, with real-time health updates and preventative measures to reduce downtime and ensure long-term data integrity.

What does IronWolf Health Management monitor?

Monitor and maintain the health of your drives.

IronWolf Health Management helps protect data with prevention, intervention and recovery recommendations to secure peak system health. It actively monitors drive status in compatible NAS systems, providing real-time health updates and preventative measures — helping to reduce downtime and ensure long-term data integrity for critical workloads.

Three years of complimentary Rescue Data Recovery Services are included with all IronWolf drives, so users don’t incur high recovery costs. In-house secure facilities — with an industry-leading 95% success rate — enable data recovery after accidental data corruption or drive damage.

IronWolf Health Management is enabled on all leading NAS systems. Please check with your NAS vendor or a Seagate sales representative for more details. Rescue services are not available in all countries.
